THE REQUIREMENT
Our client, a flooring manufacturer, had plenty of loading space, but it was all exposed to the elements, risking damage to their product and obliging warehouse staff to endure bad weather whilst loading finished product in all seasons.
We needed to create a large loading bay, open at both ends – since the site is secure – for ease of access by both forklift, van, and occasionally HGV. This structure had to be as close to the existing despatch door as possible, whilst avoiding blocking HGV access to the process tanks adjacent and the building overhang above.
OUR SOLUTION
With its 2.5m span increments and 5m eave height, our S-line classic proved the ideal solution. Following the gentle slope of the loading ramp for 25m, its sides clad in trapezoidal steel to keep out wind and rain, the structure you see here will provide decades of loading space for our happy client – out of the weather.
