Chemical Storage Building
Building: The Roder H-Line
Dimensions: 10m Span / 20m Long / 6.2m Eave Height
Cladding: 60mm ISO
Roof: Thermal
THE REQUIREMENT
Our client manufactures chemical generation and processing equipment for a variety of applications. When we arrived, bulk storage of non-hazardous chemical coumpounds was taking place in an already congested yard space with traffic flow curtailed and storage space fast running out.
With the building footprint restricted to the space already occupied with bulk storage on the ground, production equipment which could not be moved protruding into that space, and a requirement for full bay height and width doors that aligned with those in the existing building, and for the unit to be sealed to that building, we knew we would have to be inventive.
OUR SOLUTION
The H-line building you see here has its end side bay bracing moved to the centre, with additional strengthening in the roof to ensure stability and safety. It has been linked by means of additional ISO panelling to the main building as far as the eaves, with a flexible gutter at eave height to allow drainage, all achieved through channels that negate the need to cut into the cladding of the main building.
The shutters are full height and width, allowing for the best possible access, and the building is equipped with LED lighting above the 6.2m eaves that have enabled the structure to be fully racked out. With the doors aligned with those of the main building, throughput of materials takes place smoothly inside the H-line’s thermally insulated shell.
