Wholesaler Dispatch Building
Building: S-Line
Dimensions: 10m Span / 25m Long / 3.7m Eave Height
Cladding: Steel
Roof: Single Skin / Inner Cover
THE REQUIREMENT
The client, a large wholesaler, needed secure undercover space to store goods ready for despatch by van. With fast turnaround and perishable items amongst those items being despatched, access was needed both from the existing warehouse to the Roder structure and from there into the loading yard. This access needed to be both swift to operate and secure. Lastly, with limited yard space, the Roder building would have to slot into a long, narrow yard on an uneven tarmac surface, whilst providing covered storage between itself and the adjacent building canopy.
OUR SOLUTION
The building you see here is a 10m wide x 25m long S-line, with a 3.7m eave. To counter the uneven tarmac surface concrete blocks were laid flush to ensure a stable foundation prior to resurfacing of the interior space.
To maintain security and provide rapid access, both shutters are speed shutters, with radar and external key operation. The roof has an inner liner to prevent condensation damage to stock stored overnight, and to create a covered storage area alongside we installed a flexible gutter that feeds into the primary galvanised guttering and downpipes, held in place with steel channels along both the S-line at eave height and the pre-existing canopy.
